India currently has about 280 million households (2022 data).
Assuming it will have about 300 million households by 2040, such an increase in AC penetration (from 13% to 70%) is a mouth watering prospect for AC makers
But it is a scary one for the environment, given that ACs are one of the largest consumers of electricity from households and commercial buildings (and hence a large source of CO2 emissions).
Let's hope someone is able to do something about this!
